    Frequently asked questions about the V2C Trydan wallbox

    1. Which solar inverters is the V2C Trydan compatible with?

    V2C Trydan offers the widest wireless compatibility on the market. It can directly connect to inverters from Huawei, Fronius, SolarEdge, Solax, Victron, GoodWe, Kostal, Sungrow and Shelly. This allows it to charge your car directly from surplus energy without the need to install an additional smart meter.

    2. Do I need to run a data cable from the distribution board to the Trydan wallbox?

    Most inverters can be connected via Wi-Fi, and this is the main advantage of the Trydan. If you have a Wi-Fi network at home that reaches both the wallbox and the inverter, the devices communicate wirelessly. This significantly reduces installation costs and saves time during assembly.

    3. Does the V2C Trydan support dynamic load management (Load Balancing)?

    Yes. Trydan monitors the total energy consumption of the household in real time and adjusts the charging power to prevent the main fuse from being overloaded. If you switch on high-consumption appliances at home (e.g. an oven or a heat pump), the wallbox will automatically reduce the charging power.

    4. What is the difference between the 7.4 kW and 22 kW versions?

    The 7.4 kW version is designed for single-phase connection, while the 22 kW version supports three-phase charging. For most households with an 11 kW on-board charger in the car, we recommend the 22 kW version, which can be software-limited to the required power output.

    5. Can the V2C Trydan be controlled remotely?

    Yes, via the free V2C Cloud app. You can use it to schedule charging times (e.g. for a night-time tariff), track consumption statistics, set the maximum current or lock the wallbox against unauthorised use.

    6. Does the wallbox include integrated protection?

    V2C Trydan is available with an optional integrated DC residual current monitoring device (RCM 6mA DC). This increases safety and reduces installation costs, as you do not need an expensive type B residual current device in the distribution board.

    7. Can Trydan be integrated with smart home systems?

    Yes, V2C Trydan is one of the most open systems on the market. It supports integration with Home Assistant, communicates via MQTT and has its own Telegram bot that keeps you informed about the charging status.
